Chemical air fresheners are loaded with toxins, they are even considered an asthma trigger. Artificial fragrance distrupts your endocrine system (think metabolism, hunger, digestion and more). It's so easy to make your own air freshener, you'll get rid of a lot of harmful chemicals by ditching the chemical plug-ins, candles and air fresheners.
Watch this quick video to see how easy it is to DIY and make a natural, anti-bacterial and fresh spray for your home.
I use Young Living essential oils that are food grade, if you can't eat it don't put it on your skin or breathe it in! I've made a room spray with their Purification Blend, it's the perfect deodorizer for shoes, lockers and laundry rooms and doesn't leave a lingering chemical smell like canned fresheners with artificial fragrance. It kills odor causing bacteria and neutralizes the air without chemicals!
Make a spray with lavender essential oil and spritz your pillow at bedtime to ease you into a peaceful nights sleep. Be careful to choose a FOOD GRADE lavender oil, though. Lavender essential oil is one of the most copied and watered down oils just because of the demand for the fragrant oil. If you use a chemical diluted oil (which consumers cannot know since there is no labeling laws for essential oils) you could get any reaction: headache, nausea, asthmatic reaction and even insomnia! The purest oil is FOOD GRADE, with a food supplement label on it showing there are no harmful additives, preservatives or artificial fragrance.
